LOVE!!!

The biggest word that needs to be associated with stillbirth is not grief, it is not loss, it is LOVE.
The biggest feeling that a mother feels who has lost her baby to stillbirth is LOVE.
We feel love for such love for our child, that It is the overwhelming. It is the feeling of LOVE which cripples us.
Do not feel pity, or feel sorry for a woman who has had a stillbirth. Have respect, and try as best as you can to be normal with her. Allow her to express her love for her child. Her love might be so overwhelming, it might make her cry, and she might seem lost and devastated. But focus on the love.
Despite the loss, there is no greater feeling in the world, than to always have that love in your heart. It never goes away, like a glow in your heart. A grieving mother does not want to be pitied. She wants to be able to express her love for her child, freely, and openly, without condemnation or judgement.
When you see a woman who has suffered a stillbirth, who is in tears, who is broken, remember that she is that way because of love. Try to share that love with her. Do not be afraid of her sadness. Or fear that her sadness will drag you down, the easiest way to help, is to share the love.
This is what the mother misses. She misses the opportunity to love her child. She misses daily, all of the things that she would do for the love of her child. The things that she planned to do with her baby.
When you see love and not grief, when you see Love and not sadness, when you are able to share that love with the mother, you will be her greatest help on her road to find her new normal.
For grief, is not a destination, It is simply a journey.
Share the love!
